Meeting the Corporator: Pathetic condition of Hosa Road

Kasavanahalli main road or Hosa road connects Sarjapura road to the Electronic city phase1. It is home to 5000+ people. Daily 10,000+ people commute on this road. The whole road is full of deep potholes posing serious threat to the residents and commuters. Travelling on this road is a nightmare due to daily traffic jams, constant jerking and particulate pollution. There are no drains for the most part of this road and hence disposal of waste water is an issue for all apartments in this area. Around 25 representatives from 12 different RWAs met the Corporator Mr. Babu Reddy in the month of May with signed copies of complaints from each RWA residing on this road. A four point agenda was presented in the meeting.
1. Making proper drainage system.
2. Relaying of the road with no compromise on quality.
3. Regular cleaning up of the road.
4. No entry of heavy vehicles and trawlers during peak traffic hours.
Mr. Reddy has promised to release the funds for the road repair in the next two  months and to address the cleaning of the road.

It is far from full, but to get to this point required a fair bit of work. Copious rains over the lake body were not enough. We had to find ways to clean up inlets of roadside drains that could feed the lake. We now have 4 such inlets and we will add a couple more once the current roadworks are complete. Here are some…
